All products are made from porcelain or stoneware and fired at 1260 degrees and are dishwasher and microwave friendly but not oven proof. After the first firing all un-glazed surfaces are sand washed, which makes each product smooth and soft to the touch.

Each item is individually handmade with ceramic craft techniques, giving unique personality and history to every piece. These techniques produce variations in both form, size, pattern and colour. These small quirks are not flaws but are part of the unique style which results from the use of these techniques and production methods.

Care and Cleaning

Unglazed surfaces are more susceptible to marks and discoloration than fully glazed ceramics. To give the surface extra protection, you can apply a small amount of cooking oil or any other food-safe oil.

To preserve the look of the ceramics, regular cleaning in the dishwasher is recommended. Most marks will disappear either in the dishwasher or by letting the piece soak in warm water with a dishwasher tablet. If more stubborn stains or discolorations occur, they can often be removed with bleach or limescale remover.

Dark cutlery marks on the glaze can typically be removed with “The Pink Stuff” or rinse aid. 

Please note that we cannot guarantee that the ceramics will not develop stains or discoloration over time.
